Hi Everyone!!
Here's a little vintage sleeping red fox paperweight I recently acquired. I've seen a few of these, but none painted as well as this one is. He's made of cast iron and is solid. He's small and measures 2 3/8" long, 1 5/8" wide and 1 1/8" at it's tallest point.

Very cool Scott! I have a red fox hanging around my property up north. That Vulpes vulpes is a very noisy guy with sharp barks, screeches, screams, and howls.
Thanks Kurt! Red fox sightings are pretty rare for us and we live in the country. However, the coyotes are very thickly populated and in the spring, summer and fall they start howling at night and get every dog in the neighborhood barking.

I've been collecting foxes for a very long time but I've never seen a cast iron red fox like this. What a wonderful piece! A very lucky (clever?) find indeed!

Thanks very much! Being a collector of foxes, I'm sure you'll agree that any cast iron fox is difficult to come by. I spotted this one and was thrilled to adding him to my collection. I have lots of rabbits, hares and dogs, but very few foxes.
