Hello. Wondering if anyone can help me identify about when this piece was made. It belonged to my grandma and loved it since I was a child. The only thing I see on it is a stamp on the back that says “NO 641”. I can take more photos if that helps. Thanks so much in advance!

Thank you to anyone who might be able to assist with the age of this dresser. As I stated above, the only marking I see is “NO 641” stamped on the back of it.

Very pretty piece. It is quite easy to determine age of it which would be from the 1930's and a definitive date would be quite difficult as they were popular all the way into the 1940's also. I live in Canada so we had mail order from Sears and also Eatons who pictured them into their catalogs. Mail order was a big part of many homes where you could buy a home, all parts shipped out cut to order and decorating the interior was also done with these catalogs. Dressers like yours can be seen in a lot of catalogs. Catalogs can be viewed in some city auction sales or going to your local library.

Thank you so much! I was thinking 1920’s-1930’s. Such cool information about the catalogs as well. Now I’m going to look them up. Thanks again!

      You are correct--1920s- 30s.

This shows a lot of extras and real quality. Some very nice veneer panels on this and the edge work and drawer details are nice.

The missing drawer handles can be replaced. It could be a long search for three exact replacements. I'd carry one with you when you are out and if you find a similar set (8 pieces), be willing to replace them all.

      scott
