Got some patches together to show the evolution of the Boy Scout patches. These are all rank patches.
First up is Life Scout which is the second highest rank. The ones here are 1946-54, 1965-71 and 1972-1989.
Next is 2nd Class Scout. 1965-71 and then the 72-89 version.
In the 3rd photo we have Star Scout the 3rd highest rank. 1946-55 55-64 version.
Wrapping it up is a photo of the backsides. These change through the years too. The patches are made more durable. The radical redesign in 1972 has stayed the same same since it was introduced. Just the color changes.
Hopefully next week I will have something worthy.
