This 2 1-2"L camel brooch has a white rhinestone body and one red eye, with red & green stone accents in a rhodium setting. By ORA, founded in 1921 by Oreste Agnini, this signed piece ca 1960s

Lovely camel and I agree with Mrstyndall, you DON'T come across many camel brooches and this one is just lovely, the little coloured stones are a really nice touch. He's definitely part of a caravan on a trek across the desert! :P

MrsT thank you for your lovely comment, it is so true you don't see many camels in jewelry. ORA also made this in a smaller, all white (or clear) rhinestone version which I also own. Something about camels brings out my nomadic Sagittarian spirit :)
Yes Lauren, can't you just picture this camel with his colorful blanket, traveling across the desert with a caravan! Very 'Lawrence of Arabia' inspirational, camels are so at home in the desert and move so quickly despite the arid atmosphere. Thanks for your wonderful comment and cool visual
