I bought this bunny several years ago because is the only Herend figurine I had seen in Córdoba. Today I am posting it as a metaphor of the reborning of nature…. Because in the north hemisphere the spring is beginning. I think it is a rather old one…. It has no painting that is the distinctive feature of Herend perhaps of the hard depression times in what it was made…. About 1930. This figurine is still done with the new patterns so colorful….. I search who was the designer but could not find…. The mold number 5586 with Herend incised and the blue mark that It is funny you can read “hand painted”.
How cute, love the ears! Well, someone had to paint the glaze on!

I have always loved Herend, they model such wonderful creatures and this is the first I have seen unpainted.
If it's pre war it has survived well.
Like you we are heading into autumn now but still celebrate Easter the pagan way with symbols of new life like bunnies and eggs.
