This 2 3-4"L pair of mother & child giraffes brooch has a black enamel pattern on goldtone, with white & red mini rhinestone accents. The baby giraffe wears a necklace with SJ logo dangle, and as well the SJ entwined logo is on the back. By St John, founded by clothier Marie St John in 1962, this mother & baby animal series ca 1980s

Very sweet, you don't often see giraffes as brooches which is lovely to see here, I'm definitely getting some savannah vibes from some of your uploads this week, the pose on both giraffes is lovely- mama is looking over her shoulder on the look out for predators, being very protective of her little one, which is such a sweet, a lovely looking little brooch with nice details too :)

Thank you Lauren for your wonderful compliments, I agree that giraffes are rarely seen here and they are such pretty animals, I think this jewelry designer did a very good job with their splotched body pattern. It really does look like mama is guarding her young'un, and I love the little red necklace on the baby! You've read me, I must have been thinking of the African veldt this wk, with the elephant too :)
