[or: WOW, the things other people throw out?!!]

This one claimed this afternoon from two doors down. They're not even moving out. (well, I suppose somebody probably did but two more prolly took their place and we can't ever get lucky enough to lose the whole bunch from our block...? <sigh>) That house has a perpetual trash pile by the curb anyway -- I routinely harvest little bits of junk from it but there's *never* anything of true quality -- just bustimicated cheap crap as a rule. And yesterday sometime this mirror appeared leaning in with the trash bags and particleboard against an old mattress. I gave it nothing more than a first glance assuming it was plastic.

Today in the sunshine it kept catching my eye -- something about it just looked too curious to continue ignoring, so I wandered across my neighbor's yard for a closer look...about halfway across I realized "that *ain't* cheap injection molded plastic, AT ALL ... ??"

And now it seems I've got my next antique mirror restoration project... <lolol>

It is in beaten condition but its all there except for a few bits of the fancy applique work at one top corner. The mirror itself is about 32" x 38" of heavy beveled glass. Original hardware and plywood backing (I presume) also present but in distressed condition now. Most all its joints are loose and a little wiggly, but once more still all holding together. I am not sure what variety of wood it is made of, perhaps ash or something similar in grain.
