My uncle had this beautiful shiny black/satin black piece for years before he died 25 years ago. I recently saw advertised a Mosser jadeite version and, when I contacted a company rep about the timetable for its distribution, she told me that it was a mold bought from Westmoreland. His wife shared with me an article that talked about only five of these still in the world, and they didn't even know about his. Any ideas about when this was sold by Westmoreland?

Beautiful lady dish! Yes the original was by Westmoreland, Mosser Glass acquired & reissued it (sometimes called ballerina or bathing beauty) but do not know the exact yr, hope someone here can help

does this have the Westmoreland mark on the bottom of the foot. I've seen these black WG #456 Ballerina mint dishes with the WG mark, which was introduced c1940.

Afraid there’s no mark on the bottom side. Didn’t know anything about it till I saw the modern Mosser version. They married in the early 50s but I don’t know how he came to have it. My aunt loved antiques but never shared the history of it except about the old article. Still have it somewhere?
