Here is a 3 1-4"H x 4 1-4"W deep cobalt blue glass winged bird with partial orig label that was item #811 featured in the 1970 Rainbow Art Glass Co catalog

Lovely deep blue- those deep shades of royal and cobalt blue are my favourites, this shade is so rich in places it's almost black and charcoal. your little bird really reminds me of a blue tit actually, the colour and the shape and the pose- like he's sitting twittering on a branch! :P

Karen thank you for your fantastic praise & enjoying my different glass animal companies! I do try for variety and this co Rainbow made some great animals, most very strong & solid in the style of Viking (who later bought them out & copied many of their designs). I was very lucky to find this lil birdie with wings, Viking later made a similar bird but w/o wings so this guy is quite special to me
Thank you Lauren for your always lovely compliments & excellent observs, you are absolutely correct that Rainbow started the trend back then of adding black into their colored glass, which is why this bird's body is rather dark (yet when held to the light it is still dark blue). Yes he could be a blue t bird, and what a cute image of him chirping on a branch - it is Spring here, and our outside birds are all joyfully conversing with each other - except our only blue bird is the raucous jay, which is a gorgeous bird but because it's so big & loud it tends to scare all the others away!
