This vase is a beast 350mm high and the glass is 1cm or more thick esp the base which is flat and polished mirror smooth, it weighs 5.05Kg. One of the girls at work thought it looked like the sea with lots of small jellyfish floating around, I like her analogy! I got it off an internet sale site, the lady said she got it in Melbourne Aussie a few years ago. I don't think it is old and could it be Chinese as I was googling around some Chinese websites offering "Genuine Murano Glass" and saw something hauntingly familiar with the top black spiral but now just can't replicate the search (it was a photo of two glassblowers at work). If it is Chinese I don't care the workmanship is superb and I love it.
i agree! i've had some similar pieces which we determined to be later and Chinese.
What does the bottom look like? I have stopped denying that I own some Chinese glass... Cool is cool.
