Not sure when Blue Chip Stamps ceased to be. I thought they were gone in the 1970s but apparently they lasted longer than that. I recall as a kid putting the Blue Stamps in books and going to the Blue Chip Stamps redemption store but don't recall getting anything. My brother got a GI Joe I do recall.
This sign is 15" x 11" and is a flanged sign. I like flange sign as they literally stand out. Instead of going flat against a wall there is about a one inch strip that gets attached to the wall while the the rest of the sign sticks out. It is double sided so it can be seen from both sides. This would obviously attract buyers who want to fill up their Blue Chip Stamps books.
There is a fair amount of attractive rust on this sign. One one side the chipmunk is barely visible but fairly clear on the other. It also has attractive bullet holes, looks like .30 or .38/9mm.
I can tell these flange signs were fairly effective as it is the most notable sign I see when I arrive home. Which to wrap this up is where I live.

Was this local, regional or national ? Never heard of them.

Great memories of the stamps-for-gifts programs, in our area it was the S&H green stamps which were accumulated in a booklet, but like you I don't remember ever attaining a gift

We had the S&H Green Stamps and Holden Red Stamps and one other who’s name I’ve forgotten because my mom rarely shopped at whatever store gave those out. It was always fun pasting the stamps in the books and browsing in the redemption stores.

bb2 I think they were national. May have just been west coast.

Thank you very much Newfld. My parents were the one buying so I guess it was there stuff anyway.

Thank you very much Watchsearcher. I don't recall the others being in our area. I think Blue Chips had a monopoly.

Love your flanged Blue Chip Stamp Sign, I not only grew up pasting those stamps with my brothers and sisters into the savings books, but from 1963-1970(5yrs old- 12yrs old) I went to work with my Dad in the summertime and my Dad was a Blue Chip Stamps Salesman, so we had 30-35 calls a day mostly Gas Stations with a handful of Mom and Pop stores and Pharmacies our trunk filled with Catalogs, Signs, Banners, Pads and Rolls of Regular and Super stamps etc... and our garage filled with all this and more. So now you know why I love your sign- haven't seen one since the 1960's, don't have one in my Blue Chip Stamp Collection.

Thank you very much BBVD. Great story. I recall wetting the stamps with a sponge and filling up the books. Still can't recall what I got. Do recall the conveyor belt everything came down on at the redemption store.

jojo I don't recall the bonus mask but sometimes had a block of stamps that filled the whole page.
