I've wanted to find one of these for quite awhile. I found them today for pennies, along w/ lots of interesting things. The blue one appears to be a Franciscan monk, but who is the red guy? These are quite a bit larger than i thought they'd be too at 12 inches - the red guy. The monk is a bit shorter.

To quote from the GMcB book by James Elliot-Bishop - "These bottles were made for a Napa Valley winery that commissioned them. Unfortunately, the winery never used them and they remained in crates until found in the 1980s....Besides the friar, there are a male and female Californian Native American and a nun."

Thanks artfoot. i heard that they are all characters from 'Ramona'. I was told: Madonna, Monk, Senorita, and Caballero. I guess the Native American and Caballero are considered the same. ??

Only the friar is shown in the book and I've never seen any of them so I really have nothing else to add. Doesn't look much like a caballero though. Good find amigo.

Thank you artfoot. The Caballero refers more to the old time gentleman caballero of old Mexico, rather than the American western 'cowboy'.
