Well these days it's not normal for me to do random buys, usually I stick to my arts and crafts. This necklace got me hooked, I love everything about it, I just couldn't help myself, I bought it.
Everything about it for me is beautiful, I love the enamelling work the themes, even the back is enamelled.
So what do I think? I'm thinking it's probably Swiss, period Georgian or early Victorian, I'm thinking Pinchbeck which is an alloy of copper and zinc, yet again I could be completely wrong. I would love to know your thoughts.
I will change the photos when I’m back in Blighty.

    Many thanks for looking

From what I can see from your photos, I think the enameling might be Guilloche. and started 18th century in France.

{{ Guilloche refers to an engraving technique with a very precise intricate pattern is mechanically etched in fine detail. The gullioche is then enameled and the pattern shows through the enamel. }} Lori

I should add that it is a wonderful piece, very nice. and would be Victorian Era.

Thank you so much for the useful information, RichmondLori that’s my research for today. I’m hoping it’s arriving at my friends house later so will be able to get better photo’s. I can’t wait to see it and have a proper look at the detail. :)))

New photo of this necklace. I was also fortunate that the seller gave me some earrings to compliment this necklace. On each panel their is the same bird engraved in different coloured enamelled on of the 12 panels. The back the panels are guilloched. I think this necklace is a Grand tour memento probably early Victorian, definitely Swiss, not sure about the earrings..

I’m not sure this will help with the grand tour, it’s the only thing I could find of interest on the subject.
