Maybe you (a jeweler, that is) could transplant the last stone by the hook to fill the empty place in front??

Lovely Weiss set! AnythingObscure is right. It should be an easy fix. I just recently fixed a similar necklace by taking out one stone. It took along time and a steady hand. Good luck.

This is costume, why would he do such a silly thing? Ugh!
Gorgeous set, and that it was your Grandmother’s makes even more special!
There is a shop on Etsy called “ Moonsperes” , Laura, the shop owner, is wonderful and I am sure she has a crystal to match. Problem is the crystals are multi- pronged, shows quality but will be very difficult to replace without breaking a prong. There is no going back from that! Like Fresh Air says, it takes a steady hand! Good Luck!
( I’m sure your stepfather found out that it wasn’t diamonds, but crystals! ) The jokes on him!

Ha! I assumed he took a clear crystal, but he took a black ( faux jet) one!?
What kind of stone did he think it was? And since the black have only 4 prongs, much easier to fix...( am I seeing things or did he break off some prongs!!? I certainly hope not! The multi- facets in the clear rhinestones are beautiful! now I will go have my coffee and wake up....

And it’s Gudrun who noticed it was a Weiss!
Maybe I should go back to bed and get up again ...Ha!

Unfortunately he was a fool, probably never got charged for the "appraisal" ! Weiss was a common but good jeweller of the period. Have owned many by him.

Your Granny had great taste! I love the dramatic colors and clear design. I hope you are able to have it repaired. And wear it! :)
