I just want to say a big thank you to everyone here who spends time trying to help other people satisfy their curiosity. It is a sickness no doubt hahaha. This drive to know about things. Old things, beautiful things, useful things, someone else's things, our things, thrown out things, found things, lost things, thingamajig things, on and on and on like that. Thank you for what you do.

Hahaha. No....it is a rare edition indeed! Across South America by Bingham. It is thought that he was the model for Indiana Jones (the Temple of Doom). Fabulously trimmed in gold.

And thank you for being a part of all this shared curiosity about all kinds of things!
I've been on CW for four & a half years now, & learned a lot in the process...my collection has grown, just as I've grown as a person in that time. I've made many good friends here, & benefited from so much kindness & support through some challenging times. I think the collector's life is a magical, one that allows a person to endlessly enjoy a sense of wonder that so many leave behind at the end of childhood. For us, the play never ends...

Carmenisacat, Thank YOU for your kind words! I wholly agree with you (and IronLace) that there's a special kind of enjoyment to be had from collecting and learning about "things" -- not to mention the satisfaction of sharing that knowledge with other interested (interesting too, usually!) folks. (oh, and there's that constant 'thrill of the hunt' part, too...??) A "sickness" -- NO DOUBT, but one that I'll embrace enthusiastically until the day they find my cold dead bones buried under that newest pile of "stuff"...??? <LOLOL>

And I admire you all very much indeed.....the commitment to the preservation of the material and the spiritual. Peace and blessings to you all.
