Sorry for the late comment Bill, been gone for 10 days!
What an amazing place this must be! Look at the size of that band saw belt!
I see fruit and veggies? Grows them himself?
If I never see another apple tree, it will be too soon. My Father allowed no one in the orchard but me, he would go fishing ( commercially)early in the morning ( 3 am) and leave me the 1932 tractor with 16 40lb. boxes to fill up while he was out! That’s appx. 650 pounds! A days picking! No wonder my back hurts! Ha! ( don’t tell anyone, but sometimes I would go to the ranch after a night of partying ( in my youth) and just sit out in the orchard, look at the empty apple boxes and want to cry) Fun times....

Eileen no need to apologize but to tell you the truth was kinda wondering about you glad you are okay and nice to hear from you, you farm girls are workers that`s for sure the fruit in the boxes is all fake the truck about a 27ish Chevy is and old fruit truck the wifey use to drive it in parades be surprised how many people wanted to buy the fruit. Gotta ask why did you sit in the orchard and cry some reason make me want to give you a hug seems so sad

I need to spend more time here..
I cried because I was hung over and didn’t want to do the work! This was before I was married, and partied hardly with friends. My Mother was very particular with her apples. Not one would get by her that had a bruise, bug, bitter pit. She knew I would pick only the best and ripest apples, where Dad would pick a tree clean, no matter the condition of the apple. It took years before she allowed me to work the belt. Sooo, I was out in the orchard most of the time.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved it. In later years, my kids used the orchard for a playground, as I didn’t believe in babysitters. No one was gonna raise my kids, but me. I didn’t punch no time clock, my hours were mine, to come and go as I pleased. This was after I finally learned my lesson about partying so much and settled down with Frank. Those were good times, picking 1-2 tons of apples a week! Stayed in shape, that’s for sure, and no one could call me lazy! Ha!
