I’m having a hard time figuring out the maker/time period of this box. Does the inner image hold any significant meaning? Thanks for taking the time to look!

My first thought was that it's a rosary case made to look like a Bible. But the "naked woman holds cherub underneath a cloth whilst sitting atop a bat" doesn't quite seem to fit... ;)

Can you tell us the dimensions?
And is there anything on the spine side of the "book"?

@rhineisfine : Haha yes that would be an interesting biblical image :-D I have since been doing my research on the center and wondering if it may be a mythological image? Maybe of the goddess Nyx? The box measures approximately 4.25” x 3.5”. Thanks for your reply!!

"Takin' the kid and me for a ride on our bat, but it's raining so might as well bring this here cloak..."

The bat is the part I like the best :) For what it's worth, bats were sometimes used in Art Nouveau designs. That's about all I can think of, and I have no idea if that helps or misleads!

Anyway, I'll bump this and hopefully someone will come along who can offer something more useful ;)

Can you post a photo of the inside?

      Thanks much.
