Wonderful heavy oxidized Mexico pin/pendant marked MEX925 TO 78. It is just shy of 2". Probably inspired by Aztec or Mixtec chimallas warrior sheilds. Cortez era at latest.
I was on a 1,200 mile CA, NV roadtrip last week. We went all around and through Lake Tahoe (a little too hectic for me), over to Carson City, the capitol of Nevada, up to Virginia City - again too hectic. But we also did alot of hiking. In 6 days, 15 hikes. Some weren't fun, I got altitude and sunstroke one day at 9,000 feet. Just had to slow down and get in the shade! The last picture is the Inyo National Forest by Bishop, CA. about 11,000 feet and we lost our brakes coming back down. Wow, D2 and D3 really works when you are driving 20 mph.....Junk and antique stores were not open because of Memorial Weekend. What a drag. So when I got home I went on ebay and found this amazing (1970's?) sterling pin/pendant at the "Val -U-Bet price" that I like to pay...hahaha I also found another in mixed metals with ground up "turquoise" stone I will post later.
Next week, I am on the road again. Plan to bring this item and wear it with my green skirt. Happy trails everyone!
