It's probably an ashtray but boy did someone go to town on this one. The colours are mostly pastel but there are so many of them along with gold inclusions and little white nets. The base is polished and measures 175mm wide x 75mm high. Does anyone know where it is from?

I don't think it Japanese, likely Murano.

Hi Karen, thanks your opinion on its origin is appreciated.
Also everyone else for the love and comments on this and my other recent posts! :)

Definitely Murano, circa 1950s - I have several paperweights with this same type of scramble of latticino & colour twist canes. Not so often seen in this ashtray/bowl form though, very appealing!

I love it. Reminds me of Christmas ribbon candy. I agree, Murano., They're famous for that flower form. I have one right here at my desk, but in green & gold! I LOVE those pastels!
