      Thanks both for your interest, I first went up in 1962, just after leaving school, if it was a Sunday and a sunny day I took my transistor radio and listened to top of the pops on the light program with Alan freeman for 2 hours the top 4o show. Suddenly hill fog would descend and you could only see about 20 yards ahead , but there was no fog at ground level on going home to catch the bus, in winter there would be snow on the top of the hills about 4 to 6 inches, but none at ground level.
