For the upcoming summer holiday weekend, I have fond memories of fun times at the circus. Here are three clown brooches from years past:
The 2"L pearlized enamel shades of brown on goldtone clown is by Marcel Boucher, design #8687 by Boucher ca 1960s;
The 1 3-4" multi all-rhinestone clown brooch on silvertone is by ORA (founded in 1921) ca 1950s;
The 1 3-4" white rhinestone clown with various color cabochons on goldtone is by Krementz (1866-1997) ca 1970s, tiny signature behind neck
These are wonderful little treasures. And your photography is excellent.

Really unusual little collection of clown brooches- they seem to be a really popular fun choice here on CW! My favorite is the first fellow(in the first photo) His clothes remind me a lot of pierrot, y'know...that fancy mime type clown?! :D

Thank you Daisy for your awesome praise, it's really super kind of you to compliment my photography, in this case it was easy to pose these joyous fellows together, they almost seem to be dancing!
Phil thank you for your fantastic comment for my golden boys, wouldn't it nice to imagine them cavorting & blowing whistles onstage and to be in the audience, it's sad that the circus industry has had so many closings with covid. If Cirque du Soleil ever comes back to NY I'll be the first to get a ticket
Thanks Lauren for your fabulous observant comment, yes the brown one with the harlequin outfit & neck ruffle does look inspired by the pierrot mimes (and probably was, as its maker was French). Only thing I miss in circuses today are the beautiful animal acts, the plumed horses, lion tamer etc. I think we'll always have clowns though, to make children of all ages smile
Mani yes, they are a fun group of clowns, very spirited & happy looking. I am glad to remind folks of the good times we had at circuses & carnivals. Thank you for your wonderful comment!
