The vase (PN III 2294, 1925) was designed by Marey-Beckert-Schider for the exhibition "Painted Glass" in the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague in 1924 and shown one year later at the "Exposition internationale des arts decoratifs et modern" in Paris in 1925, (for the production number, see "Lötz" (Ricke) Volume 1, page 291, figure number 44). At this exhibition three groups of glasses (version 227 & 228, some Prutscher designs and iridescent glasses) were shown, including this etched flashed glass with painting, see the design drawing in the book "Das Böhmische Glas" from the Passau Glass Museum, Volume VI, page 25 (1*). White opal glass was covered with colorless glass and then a foot made of red glass was attached, then etched like ice-glass and painted with black solder and enamel, height 15.2 cm.
The box (PN III 2167, 1924) was designed by Otto Wilms (2*) for the exhibition in Prague, and it was probably also shown in Paris (see the photo by Lötz (Ricke) on page 301). It is often wrongly attributed to Ms. Beckert-Schider. For the Wilms design, see the illustration in Ms. Jitka Lnenickova's catalog "Glass from the Bohemian Forest" from the Forest Museum in Zwiesel, page 65.
Colorless glass inside lemon yellow, outside blue overlaid, three attached black painted ball feet, etched like ice glass, stylized decoration and black lid knob, height 16.5 cm.

1 * For Marey-Beckert-Schider see also the drafts PN III 2295 and PN III 2296, in Lötz (Ricke) Volume 2, page 248 and in "Das Böhmische Glas" Volume VI, page 35, No. VI 30 and on page 34, No. VI 28.
2 * It is not yet clear to me whether the complete can or just its decor was designed by Otto Wilms.
