Hello Everyone - I picked up a beautiful Dining Table and Chairs at an Estate Sale this weekend and I'm having a hard time identifying what to call it and where it came from. The Estate Sale was in the North GA Mountains and was "Live" only, so you had to be there to bid. There were many great deals to be had and we did very well.

The gentleman that passed had done quite well for himself in his younger years and opened up an antique furniture store to feed his passion for collecting. The entire home was filled with beautiful antiques which leads me to believe this is an antique piece. However, there are no markings to be found anywhere to help identify where it came from or who made it. My wife and I picked it up because we love it and plan to use it but after searching for 2-days online and not finding anything similar, except a Frank Lloyd Wright set, I believe we should find out what we have before turning the kids loose with it. It's not by Frank Lloyd Wright, by the way. I searched it well just to be sure!

All I know is it's Mission style, which I love, and completely built using mortise and tenon joints. The only screws used are to hold the table top to the legs and the seat cushion to the chairs. One of the relatives at the auction said that if a spindle is loose, you have to take the entire chair apart to tighten it and put it back together.

The chairs are very unique with the spindles continuing below the seating and sits 50.5 inches from the floor to the top of the backrest. Very high backed chairs and we love them.

The table is heavy and solid. I believe it's all oak, but I'm not certain.

Does anyone have something similar or have any idea where this came from? My only guess is possibly made by Amish Furniture makers sometime over the past 50 or 60 years. It didn't have any matching pieces with it. However, he did have 4 or 5 beautiful cabinets that had a similar look filled with Rookwood and Roseville pottery. Picked some of that up, as well.

Thanks to anyone that can help us out and have a great day!

Have you ever found out more about the dining set? I found a similar (I believe it is exactly the same set, actually) set at a local consignment store and I am considering purchasing it.

i think that the feet might be a clue. it appears to be early 20th c and there were several companies making tables/chairs in the craftsmen style. find out which one made chairs w/ feet like these. Maybe Limbert?
