    (22 items)

    Measures 2" long, closed,
And 1.25" wide. Beautiful clip....for exactly what I am unsure, and hoping for input on that as well as the setting on back. Is this unusual to you? It is to me and I'd love your input!! Thanks!!

Hi. I would date your clip from the 1930s. Victorian Revival was Popular. The clip has two rivets which are the round things on the back. Common method used for a cold bond in jewelry. The clip was probably the type used on the a plunging v neck. If you look at old movies from the period you can see this. Looks like verdigris on the front which you'll want to clean off asap. How large is it? It looks like a larger one. Very striking!

ohh my! I DID reply to your comments yesterday..where did that comment go??? Ok, Well i see the new photos uploaded showing the measurements and post cleaning. I think there's still some verdigris but i am uncertain how to safely remove that! Anywho, here you go...measures 2" long x 1.25" wide. THANKS AGAIN for the replies and informative input!

oh btw- THIS IS NOT A GLASS STONE , as in there are not any bubbles. if you think you are seeing one it's either some water residue or reflection. So WHAT kind of stone is this?
    5. plein-air-painter plein-air-painter, 1 year ago
There is an easy way to verify your stone. Glass has a hardness of 5.5 on the Mohs scale while Citrine is 7.5. If you stone can scratch glass it is Citrine, if not, it is glass. But does it matter? It is a wonderful jewel on it's own terms.

Thanks all! I am generally short in responses due to severe thumb problems...actually need to have both the trapezium bones removed, so my abilities are limited..arg....i ALWAYS appreciate those that share their input, knowledge and advice. I am STILL seeking advice on a novice metal testing kit and I guess a Mohs scale one as well per Plein air!! In my world, nursing, MOHS is a surgical dermatologic type biopsy! In Plein's world it test hardness of stones. Good grief I cant wait to see HOW this is done. I am not seeking to spend much money on these kits..and have been begging for someone on CW to give me an actual kit name/ link something more specific....almost 2 years no one wants to share that knowledge. i have searched..its too overwhelming!
