Hi I picked this up this morning, no idea what it is, it’s too small to be a necklace, it has a clip either side, does anybody have any ideas?

There have been ladies’ handbags that had interchangeable design elements so the bag could be used with a variety of outfits and occasions.
This could be one such handbag decoration.
An extender of some kind. Size would help.

mmmm.......so what does the lobster clasp on each end 'fit' onto.....? Does the whole thing fold back on itself-there seems to be enough slack in the chain......I just don't understand how it becomes a purse accessory?
Bitsnbobs….another thing to check out are ladies outfits with “removable necklaces”….such dresses are made with small cloth hidden tabs near the neck opening upon which a decorative necklace is clipped. Having such a necklace attached to the garment itself prevents the lady from having the necklace hanging from her neck; sometimes necklaces can prick the neck or pull tiny hairs or break the skin out in a rash- so that kind of necklace avoids all that.
Those necklaces and garments are sold as 1 unit usually.
I imagine a decorative belt front could be made in the same way and affixed to tabs or belt loops.
These are a lot of possibilities I’ve given you based on how I would personally use your item or based on garments I’ve seen in stores.
