This 2 1-4" white rhinestone on goldtone spider brooch has a heart shaped back & two black eyes. Its bent legs lift nearly 1-2" from the ground, a creative design by Dorothy Bauer from the 1980s. California costume jeweler Bauer began her business in 1979 and mainly featured graphic design figurals

The legs really make you think its a spider, making him realistic and the stones are candy !~
He's actually a very cute little spider! I'm not completely gone on them as real beasties but this one is very sweet. His curled or crouched pose reminds me of those little...wolf spiders, is it? The little jumpy ones that I actually don't mind finding, I find them generally very small and compact- yours looks like those! :)
Would be great to wear on Halloween! Love it!

Phil I totally agree, this spider is very realistically shaped (don't black widows have a heart shape back), and the big crystals definitely remind me of rock candy! Fabulous comment & observ thank you very much
Lauren I'm with you, NOT a fan of real spiders, they're fine outdoors but hate seeing them inside. However, this rhinestone spider was so pretty & unusual with the arched pose, I thought what a cool summer post at our "buggiest" time of year. A wolf spider it could well be inspired by, great insight & wonderful comment!
Yes vintagelamp I think this spider brooch would be perfect worn at Halloween, I actually have another spider brooch I posted a couple yrs ago 'crawling' onto a glass pumpkin, but this one is alot nicer & would definitely be an eye catcher! Thanks for your wonderful comment
