    This is another example of a Taube or dove aircraft.

    The plane body is from a rifle shell casing, the wings and tail section are from shell brass. The propeller and wing insignia are are cut from copper.

    The most unusual part of this trench art is the bird of prey talon that has been used to mount the plane. The talon is cast brass (not sure what it came from or if it cast just for this use) and to me "makes" this piece.

    The base comes from a 75 artillery shell.

      The bird of prey/ talon is a commonly found symbol in reference to WW1 aviation. You will see it in posters and propaganda of the era.
