I found this beautiful piece in a trash out I was doing last week. I believe it's old. It weighs 40lbs. Looks like it is copper and brass. Just wondering if anyone has a clue of what it may be.

Fireside bin for coal or ashes?

Your pictures aren't clear and you didn't give dimensions but it looks like a coal bin you would keel beside a heating stove. They were normally metal and made to look like a piece of furniture
