    These two aren't beautiful by any means but still interesting. I have no idea if they are handpainted or what. I'm hoping someone else knows.

      These are what is called "Silver Deposit" glass. It was a much cheaper alternative to Silver Overlay, which was a thin silver "cage" which glass items were encased in. Silver Deposit items probably did have the decorations painted on by hand. This dates from the 'teens to the 1920s. The decoration appears to be tarnished and will brighten up nicely with a mild cleaning. I'd use Wright's paste cream (with the sponge applicator). It's gentle and does the job. Whatever you do, do not use anything like Tarn-ex.
