I can't figure out exactly what this is made out of. It appears to be a smaller vase- about 6" tall. Does anyone recognize this or can you point me to where I can find more info? Thanks!

Interesting.
Being metal of some sort and that general shape, the first thing that comes to my mind is that it is a spittoon. No offense intended. If it’s indeed a spittoon, it a fancy one. ;^)
My mind agreed with Watchsearcher. Spittoons came in all sizes but usually the same shape. Might not be one but it sure looks like one.
Based on the size you state and the fancy bottom this might be better called a ladies cuspidor.
I also thought spitoon at first. I'll look up cuspidor. Thank you!
