Good afternoon. Went to the thrift store today and checked out the dollar boxes. This Boucher dragon/ monster was in there. It is missing its eyes and one turquoise. Problem is, I have only been able to find one other of these online. That one is in Australia, I think, and is a different color enamel with green eyes. Do you think this one would have had green eyes too? Does anyone know how rare this might be. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
Fabulous find and in the $1 box, too. What color was the enamel in the example you found? Often the eye is the complementary color, i.e. red enamel, green eye.
Such a great design!
Is that a patent pending # on the back?
Plein-air-painter, the one I saw was blue enamel, about the same color as the turquoise stones. It had dark green eyes.
Gillian, no, it is marked Boucher and a number, which might be 9930 P. It’s kind of hard to see
OMG that's amazing - this is when one of my life's little theories, comes in:
" sometimes a find like this is payback for all the one's that you later on felt you spent too much for".
GREAT FIND. Lori
Gorgeous Boucher dragon MrsT, love its cascading golden hair - a very unique piece, and so lucky finding at the thrift!
I love the condition of the gold, wonderful find !~
Lori, thank you for the comment! I have been burned on some pieces that I have bought but have found many great deals too!
Jenni, glad you like this little monster dragon piece. Now, I need to find replacements.
Many thanks, Phil!
Eileen, that is so sweet of you to say. Just hope I can find stones that work. Thanks
Great little dragon. I know that the Boucher praying mantis is worth a fortune. Perhaps this one is also...hope so!
