    HELLO EVERYONE!
A STROLL TODAY UNCOVERED NOT TOO MUCH, EXCEPT I DID MANAGE TO UNEARTH A METAL KEY, THAT SPECIFIC KEY YOU NEEDED TO OPEN A CAN OF THE ICONIC LUNCHEON MEAT, SPAM..BEFORE THE POP TOP LIDS OF TODAY.
THIS KEY WOULD BE TAPED TO YOUR CAN OF SPAM. THE SLOT IN KEY WOULD FIT IN A THIN STARTER STRIP AT NEAR THE TOP OF CAN. YOU WOULD TWIST THE KEY AROUND THE CAN WHILE A THIN METAL STRIP WOULD WIND AROUND THE KEY.
THE THING WAS THAT THESE COULD EASILY BREAK OFF AS YOUR TWISTING CAUSING YOU TO FIND OTHER MEANS OF OPENING.
SPAM WAS INVENTED IN 1937 AND BECAME A BIG HIT DURING WWII. INVENTED IN MINNESOTA BY MR. HORMEL.

    THANK YOU,
    T.

      Spam- so good for breakfast!

Here’s a trivia question for you: what state has the highest per capita consumption of Spam?

      Watchsearcher, Hawaii. };-)

I know mostly because I had an old friend who lived there for a few years. He told me that the average Hawaiian grocery store has an entire aisle devoted to the different varieties of Spam.

Keramikos wins with the correct answer!
I remember a new store grand opening in Honolulu and, as a special feature, they had built a gigantic Spam pyramid in the store lobby….everyone was talking about it!
Restaurants serve Spam and Bento boxes sometimes contain Spam.
It’s said that the affinity for Spam is a holdover from the WWII years when the military made it popular. Hawaii residents appreciated that it doesn’t require refrigeration and it’s more affordable than the usual fresh meats. :^)
