red 'in case of emergency' wall telephone

Though obviously based on the ubiquitous 'Bell System 500-series wall set', this red telephone was intended for duty as part of an emergency alarm system in some big (?) building someplace instead of a home, probably Ohio University. (note the 'don't steal me' label too) Made by CORTELCO, their name is on its front and the backside FCC label, the handset reads "MADE IN USA".

Most of its external parts appear made to closely mimic the original telco designs, but I have not opened it up yet to compare its innards -- there's a decent chance that the stuff actually inside is quite different than a standard telephone.

It'll still look fun hanging on the wall somewhere here, prolly in the kitchen with other red accent stuff, where one would (have used to) have a wallphone anyway, when my house was built...?? ;-) :-)
