This 2 3-4" aqua & white rhinestone brooch with matching 3-4" screwback earrings were made by Joseph Wiesner of New York, who designed quality costume jewelry primarily in the 1950s decade. All pieces are marked Astra which was one of his company divisions

The use of prongs now to decorate, not serving any purpose, but still a very pretty brooch of very nice design !~

Astra was an early mark by Joseph Wiesner, I believe pre-1954, when you scan around online for his info that is how it looks comparing other Astra pieces. I humbly thank you for the lovely compliment about my collection, and may I return it by saying your Sherman beauties are absolutely divine
MrsT thank you for your marvelous compliments, I too love the class & elegance of this set. The screwback earrings are a little uncomfortable but make you aware of this great vintage era, my grandmother wore screwbacks and was always rubbing her earlobes at night lol
