It measures 7 1/4" from top to bottom, and is 1 1/2" wide. The blade is pretty stiff. Any guess as to the age. I'm 75 and it looks better than me.

It certainly looks to be a bent putty knife and possibly made by duo fast. They were a big maker of bent knives.
for shucking sea shells .. like clams, scalps, would be my guess
Rocky, they actually did make putty knives like this years ago and they were called bent knives. I don't know why you couldn't use it for shucking shells but they were most commonly used for glazing windows. Not Microsoft windows house windows :)
lol fhrjr2 , glad you keep me straight on which windows , ya I always used a regular square putty knife on hundred of windows I puddy while playing painter they tell me its a art ..,.. not including bill gates windows,..lol later bud.
fhrjr2: I think as usual you are right on. Most of the shucking tools I've seen have somewhat of a pointer front.
Odauctions, I have shucking knives going back to the late 1800's and 1900's up through WWII and all are shaped much differently. If I haven't sent those to my son they are still here in the dusty archives. I am slowly sending my collectibles to my youngest son and grand son as they love collecting, metal detecting and magnet fishing. I created two monsters but proud of them.
fhrjr2: I'm an old retired dude. Since I retired in 2001 I have a hobby (too small to be a business) I sell items for clients on Ebay. I've been selling tools for this one guy for over 5 years. I do appreciate your help on helping me figure out what some of these unusual items I get are. Thanks

Odauctions, that is what this site is for, helping each other. Don't feel alone in being old, I passed 70 almost 4 years ago. I also have an eBay account but health issues have kept me away from it this year. At one point I was bringing in over a grand a week just selling off my own stuff and still have plenty to go through. If I see something on here I do my best to identify it but admit I don't always hit it right. Plenty of folks here to learn from. Keep on plugging away.

I just found on google searching for "c s osbourne tools" a new "tucking tool no. 747" that looks like the putty knife pictured. Many uses for the same tool again!
