I assume that this is for using as a wax seal, but i have no idea. I think it's made of some tropical hardwood. Is it Japanese or Chinese? Can anyone read what it says? do i have it the right way up? Thank you!

can anyone tell me whether this is Japanese or Chinese?

They’re traditional Chinese characters (hanzi), which could mean it’s either Chinese or Japanese using kanji. Unfortunately I can’t read it. The first image is upside down though (and revered left to right, but that makes sense given how stamps work).
