I found this little plate today and don't know what to make of it. It has tool marks, especially around the bottom rim and is very delicate.
The plate reminds me of Jade, but I am not sure. Could it be some kind of soapstone? What is also very curious, is the number 15 carved in the bottom.
My best guess is, that it is a recent copy/imitation of a Chinese plate.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

is it cold to the touch all the time? like a stone would be? could be jade or jadeite.
oh I forgot to say I think it is really nice no matter what it turns out to be.
RichmondLori, thanks for your comment. The plate feels cold to the touch. I am just wondering what it was used for. It is rather small and I believe it might be very fragile, too.
