Excellent find in a watch lot I purchased today at my local thrift shop. This immaculate condition Hampden pocket watch with a 14KT Gold Filled James Boss Case (Paper insert included!). Works excellently! The model number on the movement is 399304 which when looked up this watch dates 1885. The FOB on the end of the chain is from the organizations G.A.R (Grand Army of the Republic), but the knight with an eagle perched on his head is the Knights of the Golden Eagle organization. I believe this watch belonged too a Union Army Soldier after the American Civil War.
