I have outlived most of mine on both sides of the families so that is how I know about the above tips. The ones still alive keep their distance from me now much to my liking.

fhrjr2, it’s usually us “old fogies” with all the life experiences, successes, education, travels, savings, etc….they might not like our views but at least, we have some basis for our opinions….not just what was posted on social media or whatever the current conspiracy theory is. Oh, and did I almost forget when we become verrry important? When they need a “loan”, of course.
Watchsearcher nobody forgets you when they need a loan. Also if you live in Florida they think they can freeload there for their vacation. I cured that really quick with my attitude about paying your way and putting something in the pot. Others I just flat out told to get the hell out.

Yeah fhr, it's a problem we have to live with here in the Wayward Islands.
You just reminded me of an “unpleasantness” whereby I also asked someone to get the H—- out, and I’m usually the hardest person to anger. That gal overstayed her welcome, made herself right at home, brought her dog along, and was suspected of stealing prescription meds when she was invited to our neighbor’s cookout, then, some of my own prescription meds vanished.
Now, I’ll try to forget that bad episode again….
My family is huge :) Luckily we are all like minded:) we will all be chanting LETS GO BRANDON !!!
