When I purchased these lovely scent beads, I didn't know how special they were. The beads are from North Africa, most likely Tunisia. The beads are made by the women by mixing a concoction of ambergris, cloves, roses, musk, and other aromatic ingredients. The necklace is from the 60' or 70's and they still have a lovely scent. I believe the green beads are Bakelite. Skhab bead necklace were given to brides to protect them as we as for the pleasing fragrance.
