This large 4"L cockatoo design brooch has a sculpted goldtone & white rhinestone body, with peach-yellow enamel beak and a multitude of rainbow hued tail feathers. By Kirks Folly (founded 1979) with cartouche mark on back, ca 1980s

Very fancy bird there! I ADORE the plain(but still sparkly!) body and then all the flowing colored tail feathers- like ribbons or streamers! He’s understated in terms of color on his body until you get to that tail :P
Makes me think he takes great pride in such a colorful tail which of course he should! XD

Thank you Lauren for your awesome compliments, this cockatoo is very proudly flaring its colorful tail! I think one could definitely call this a "very 80s" design, the bold bright colors in the tail were often used in that decade for clothing as well, Bob Mackie's super colorful outfits come to mind. It is quite fancy & of course a sparkly bird gem always appeals to me :)

Yes they do have a lethal beak, as my brother in law discovered kissing his pet, getting bitten & needing stitches at the hospital lol.
