This small Victorian vase by Welz was not meant to be a Christmas present but it & another vase (soon to be posted) inadvertently ended up under the Christmas tree a few weeks ago (the parcel arrived when I was out for the day & my partner thought it would be amusing to put it under the tree). As I respect the rule that if something's under the tree, it's not to be opened until the big day, the parcel remained untouched until yesterday.
Made from three layers of cased glass - clear pale amber over multicoloured spatter incorporating mica spangles, with a white interior, the vase measures 8.5 cm tall, 7 cm across the scalloped top rim, & 5 cm across the base. The squat form has a lobed design with diagonal ribbing.
In the last photo I'm wearing a Paul Smith shirt & Jil Sander for Uniqlo jacket I got for Christmas.
