    Went to the Rose Bowl fleamarket picked up this Rookwood tiny pottery jug circa 1884
    Got some exercise walk my dog and enjoyed the Rose Bowl Antique flea market

      Ok..I'm curious...the lettering looks to be gold in the pictures? Gold paint was first used in like 1923(?)..before was gold leafing...is it gold leaf? Or was this written in 1984 with foil pen? So many questions...

      And..I don't know anything about these jugs. .recognize the name...what is the purpose? Did they store water or just decorative? Do you have others in your collection?

      I wouldn’t of bought this jug if it was made in 1984.. I’m interested in jugs that had advertisement on it from general stores from early 1900s

      I was asking if the writing was done later. I understand the jug was made in 1884. I was trying to get you to to reveal some of your expertise. Obviously if you collect these, you know more than I do. I guess I'll look them up.

      Found some interesting info to share...the company established in 1880..so you found some really early pieces! First pottery company to be run by a woman.
