My husband found this in Louisiana in 1993 while on a business trip..had a difficult time bringing it back to TN on the airplane, but he managed to fit it in the overhead storage. It is VERY heavy (for me). It is a shuttle bobbin and a turn of the wheel sends it flying like greased lightening. Only tested the stitching once and has been my 'oddity' to show off ever since...had never seen a crank machine before. Attachments were included, and the "coffin" cover has a built inside box for storing such. I finally just asked the Singer Co. for info on the serial # and received the identifying model & year of manufacture, as well as it's hometown.
Update: I have finally learned what the 3VS stands for..."vibrating shuttle". That doesn't tell me a lot more :-)

The VS3 is the 3/4 size Vibrating Shuttle machine. If you can add the serial numbers a date could be given for these machines.
