This 3 3-4"L bird of paradise brooch has teal rhinestones and a berry in its mouth, in a textured goldtone setting, inspired by a Marcel Boucher design. By Dodds (1950s-1990s) with their 11 W. 30 St mark which was their NYC address, ca 1980s

Ther rhinestones of colour work beautifully on this beauty, he looks expensive and never shown better with the gold tone.

Thank you Phil for your super praise for this exotic bird, I too love the rhinestone colors esp the teal which is my December birthstone, and it really looks great in the subtle goldtone setting. You are right this is a pricey design, of course the Boucher brings the most but this Dodds has inflated over time, I got this several yrs ago when it was still reasonable & lucky I did :)

All your birds of paradise are so fabulous but I think he’s my favorite so far- i adore his lovely green/blue stones and color, of course his tail feathers are gorgeous- I think he’s just taken off, or maybe he’s going to land?!

It is a wonderful design that was originally done by M. Boucher so of course he was tops for birdie jewels, and I agree the teal stones look beautiful here & it's such a rare rhinestone color that I'm always thrilled to find anything made with it. He does look about to either fly or land!!
