Here is a 6"W golden amber glass dolphin that was made by Rainbow Art Glass of Huntington WV, item #809 from the 1970s.
I had previously posted one in avocado green that unfortunately broke in moving transit, so was delighted to find this rare Rainbow fish again

Awh no! Sorry to hear that lovely turquoise one broke! (That’s always the worst about glassware....)
This one is still beautiful though, I love how he’s so sleek and torpedo shaped- he doesn’t even need a dorsal fin! :P
If your familiar with a ‘Southern Right Whale Dolphin’ (I know, the name is long!) I think he resembles these guys as they’re very sleek and don’t have a dorsal fin - they’re black and white though, not amber! XD
Too bad about the green one, at least you found this one :)

Thanks Dave for your super compliment, this fish does have such pretty amber & gold hues that it was a surprise when the sun brought them out. These West Va. glass animals were called window glass and you can definitely see why with a little bolt of sunshine

Lauren you are so sweet to sympathize with my broken dolphin, it was indeed a tragic moment to find it fractured and beyond help. However, finding this pretty golden one has been very soothing. Moving is such a difficult time, you can put all the cushioning you like & things still break - I hope I am done with all that for some yrs ahead. Yes this dolphin does have a torpedo shape & very similar to the southern right whale dolphin (had to google that, thank you for your amazing animal expertise!), great info & fabulous comment my friend
Thank you MrsT for your truly kind comment about my first dolphin loss, it's just a real letdown because you have to be so careful handling these glass pieces (i.e. taking pictures, storing them on shelves, rearranging them etc) and after all that to have breakage sinks your heart a little bit
