Hi CW Gang ~
Have this vintage HEMINGRAY 514 - Glass insulator. I like them, and always grab them -- but never know which ones are better one. I think some colors are better that other -- but what about styles?? Is this a common one? Thanks for the info

I don't think I've ever seen that exact style before, but then I'm definitely not a glass insulator expert. The hemingray dot info website information about this particular style:

The link will tell you if it's common, or if there's something to watch out for that makes it unusual. Also look at the wanted page, there's some big money ones out there
I don't know if it is a 'rare' one but it certainly is an *unusual* one with its top shaped that way -- I love glass insulators too, and in my (limited, no doubt) experience with 'em that shape is more commonly seen in ceramic examples. FWIW... :-) :-) :-)

@AnythingObscure - Everything is always FWIW in my opinion. It is all a learning game. I did now note that the words HEMINGRAY are on their own side of this -- where others have that writing, and then numbers below it.
Also, I THINK this may be referred to a "Saddle dome" ?? from that site. Not sure, but I think so. I know we do not discuss prices here, but I am sharing a link to one I found on Ebay that looks the same as mine. So sharing the link to show it and what they say on there. Looks like mine, but I have not measured mine, but it is quite large. So having just the word HEMINGRAY on a side all by itself, looks be make it a bit more uncommon, I think ??

That one has 11-46 on it -- Mine has 15-46 on it. Still trying to figure out what these numbers mean. I believe 46 is the year ??
