That flamingo is amazing- his little enameled wing has such a beautiful fun tones to it! Really nice bright neon shades for a flamingo which suit him very well, the turned down head is nice too, makes him really look like he's...rooting about somewhere? (is that what flamingoes do...?!)

Thanks so much Searching for your fantastic kind praise for this flamingo, it is certainly a quirky yet lifelike pose! This brooch also came in dark enamel but I was so hoping to snag this one with the colorful wing, it's a bit of a fantasy bird not the usual pink

Thank you Lauren for your marvelous comment and so glad you liked the bright enamel colors of its wing feather, me too!! The real flamingos have such long agile necks that this is a very realistic pose, you're right they root around either on the ground or in shallow water looking for tiny fish, gnats etc. It's a beautiful sight seeing a whole flock of them together, a sea of orangy-pink, it amazes you the lovely colors nature gives to some animals. Saw these at zoos in both Florida and Hawaii
