Hello, could anyone help me identify this brooch? It’s quit large and heavy, the big rhinestones seem like glass or crystal to me. Is it possible to be unsigned schreiner? Thank you so much in advance!

Hi Relivingthepast. This is a beautiful brooch but I don't think it is Schreiner. First, looking on the back, the disc and covered rivet head are construction techniques not associated with Schreiner. Schreiner never used rivets. Second, if you look at the small rhinestones you can see that there are metal links between the prong settings. Schreiner never used these rhinestone chains with links. Each stone setting would be individually soldered. That's one reason the jewelry was originally so expensive. Third, the small round discs at the base of the clasp and pin and also not consistent with Schreiner. Never-the-less it is a lovely piece that is a beautiful addition to your collection. Best,
      Maureen
