Really pretty horse brooch!
He's beautiful- a real life little Black Beauty alright, the details in his bridle(is that what it's called?!) are lovely, he looks so ornate- I think he's been dressed up nicely to draw a very fancy matching black carriage...? You can probably tell I'm not a horsey person XD

Lauren your comparison to Black Beauty is absolutely perfect, I loved both the book & movies about him! Yes that neck noose is a bridle (it looks very confining on the poor horse though, almost like a muzzle, but riders need it to guide the horse). This would definitely be a great carriage horse, it has that proud look and the colored stone accents are very dressy - maybe it's one of those Spanish black Lipizzaner stallions?
